<Cultual exchange event report>
Tokyo Branch
invited Peggy Hess Sensei (Uechi Ryu, Florida, USA) for exchange practice
and meeting on October 3rd and 4th. She stopped Tokyo on the way to
Okinawa trip and shared her time with the members for Karate class,
gathering party and communication.
It was a wonderful 2 days event for Tokyo members to learn a lot of
things from her.

<Autumn Camp traning report>
Shonan
Shubukan held a autumn training camp for kids members on September 26
and 27 in Yumekana Kan Dojo. The kids camp is a popular annual event
and this is the 4th year since the event started in 2012. It was supposed
to be held in August, but August in Japan this year was too hot to work
out.
Lodging together with friends from different dojos and participating
in many activities including not only Karate practice but also nature
observation study established stronger friendship among members.

<Jan/19 Opinion Exchange for establishment of Hall for Okinawa Karate in Tomigusuku>
On January
17th, Tokyo Branch members exchanged opinion with the project team members
for establishment of Okinawa Karate Kaikan (Hall of Okinawa Karate)
dispatched by Okinawa Prefectural Government. The project team members
would like to collect our opinion about operation of the Hall and to
research the history and documents which were introduced in the book
of Kanbun Uechi’s biography. Tokyo Branch would like to support their
main idea and promised them for further support and cooperation such
as providing information and resources.
After the meeting, Tokyo Branch members had a new year’s party with
appreciation for Mr. and Mrs Nikura’s big assistance for filming DVD
for 20th anniversary of Tokyo Branch and also enjoyed discussing the
Hall of Okinawa Karate planned to be built in Tomigusuku, Okinawa.

<Jan/15 Pangainoon/Uechi-Ryu histroy>
Mr. Fujimoto, the
Representative of Pangainoon Kempo Research Society visited Okinawa
on January 10th and 11th, 2015 for further research of Uechi Ryu Founder
Master Kanbun Uechi’s footprints.
Master Kanbun Uechi’s biography “The Authentic Account of Kanbun Uechi’s
Life” has met a favorable reception by many Karate lovers and Mr. Fujimoto
tried to confirm some additional information provided.
Ms. H.K
who was a direct student of Kanbun Uechi in Iejima island, Okinawa introduced
a new episode of Kanbun Uechi in Fujian, China. The story cannot be
disclosed here by a certain reason, instead, it is served in the file
as an important record(Shu-Shi-Wa taught Pangainoon Kenpo to Kanbun
Uechi at his house).
Ms. H.K provided several new stories which may be necessary to be added
into the biography.
Mr. S.K (elder brother) who was another student of Kanbun Uechi both in Iejima island, Okinawa and Wakayama, Japan main land introduced the room arrangement of Kanbun Uechi’s Dojo (Uechi Ryu Karate Study Laboratory) and situation of students and training in those days as well as stories about Kanbun Uechi with American soldiers. Also he instructed traditional techniques of Sanchin and Seisan he learnt from Kanbun Uechi.
**Our translation project (Japanese to English) has been in progress. As soon as it is getting to be ready for publication, more detail information should be put on the website.

<Nov/12 Australia branch 40year Anniversary Event Report>
Tokyo
Branch dispatched Branch President Fujimoto and 7 Tokyo members to Australia
for Uechi Ryu Australia 40th Anniversary events. We made fantastic experience
through many events such as seminars, grading, sightseeing and anniversary
ceremony and reception. We would like to express our appreciation for
the invitation and warm hospitality of Arthur Sensei.
[Note] Tokyo Branch starts discussing with Australia Branch about student
exchange program to promote friendship and cultural exchange.

On 28th/Sept, Tokyo Head office held periodical Seminer for Black belt
& brown belt at Yokohama Tsurumi Dojo(Shioiri elementary school
gym) and board meeting.On seminer, we study Yakusoku kumite, Kata &
Jiyu kumite.At board meeting, we discussed about

<Karate & Kobujyutu demonstration report>
Shonan Shubukan made Karate & Kobujutsu demonstration in “Zushi
O-KINA-WA Festival” at Kameoka Hachiman Shrine in Zushi City on August
30th, 2014. The festival was held in Zushi in the first time. The event
site was packed with people and filled by Okinawa culture.

<Information>
Shonan Shubukan Life Town Dojo had a cute little visitor, William Hirotaro Totsuka from Okikukai Edward De Costa’s Boston Dojo in U.S. and our members enjoyed practicing together with him. Hirotaro is now visiting his mother’s hometown, Chigasaki and plans to practice with us a few more time before going back to the States. It is a curious turn of fate that a student of Edward Sensei’s is visiting to Fujimoto Sensei’s Dojo because both Sensei has a long time friendship each other.

Mr. Saga from Uechi-ryu Tsugaguchi Dojo in Amagasaki was invited to our Shonan Shubukan Life Town Dojo and practiced together with our members. Uechi-ryu Tsukaguchi Dojo is the one with a long and honorable history and it appears in the biography of Master Kanbun Uechi.
All of us enjoyed talking about all kinds of Karate episode.

On March/23,2014 Tokyo branch held periodical board meeting which discuss about operation of Tokyo branch. At the same week Tokyo branch held Kyu promotion test.
Tokyo branch board meeting decided to have Enbu, Party, invitation of Okinawan masters and overseas guest , making mamorial DVD for 20 years anniversary of Tokyo branch on 2015.

<Information>
The Society of Pangai Noon Study has finished writing a biography of the founder Sensei Kanbun Uechi.
It is a completion of all the investigation and data collection about Sensei Kanbun Uechi's life from his birth to later years by visiting to related sites such as Okinawa, Wakayama, Osaka, Hyogo and even Fujian, China.
Since the Society plans to publish it on this May after the final proofreading, please look forward to it.
Also the Society plans to work on electrical publishing of the English version and adapting into a novel based on the biography before long.

From Okinawa, sensei Kina & Tamayose came to Tokyo for that event.
